I can't stop thinking about this quote I read yesterday that goes like this, "I read until I am the thing renewed." I love how this quote is articulated. When I read, I feel like I'm growing in wisdom, humility, cleverness, charm and so much more. The words become a part of me and change me for the better. They speak to my spirit and stir my soul. With each word and with each page until the last - I am the thing renewed.
There's nothing like reading a great book, right? It's funny how each book I read becomes a favorite. I long for the words to teach me, to speak to me, as if they were written for only me... I read with urgency to reach the end, to fully taste the richness, and for a moment...savor them...while wishing it never ends.

W.O.W = Words of wisdom...
I recently read that when dealing with difficult relationships and friction with family members or amongst friends (or frenemmies) that, "understanding and tolerance is the only path to friendship." I love this sentiment and resolve to exercise these attitudes (however idealistic they might be :S ) to simply get along...

for a laugh... or for some good advice...
I sent the following segment from an email I wrote to my sister-in-laws. It's about negotiating spending money for an upcoming girls weekend. "Some" of my sisters (in-laws) thought it was funny, "some" did not, but maybe you will....
When negotiating with your hubbies for fundage$, you'll get what you want if you say (don't ask) it with a smile : ) and start out high, then negotiate down to what you really want... Make sure your dollar amount either starts or ends with a 3 because you can say Threeeee with a smile. Try it. Threeeee :). 16 and 20 are also magic numbers that can be said with a smile, but then your hubbie might get suspicious when you propose a strange dollar amount. Negotiating right after dinner when he's full and happy also helps. Good luck!

I'll bet you wouldn't have guessed... or would you?...
I thought I would add a link to an article I wrote for a magazine blog... enjoy.

Does blogging make me like Carrie Bradshaw? (I <3 SJP) If so, I'm all in!

What am I doing?...
I don't know why I'm blogging. I spend every minute of the day reading and writing - technical material that is. I have no energy for this and I'm skeptical about this blogging phenom. It seems a bit fake, "some" blogger's virtual identities don't really match their "real" identities... Something doesn't seem quite right about a blog representing a person's alter ego. But maybe that's the beauty in blogging.... I'll try to represent myself accurately. But I'm not so sure if I'm going to like my virtual identity as much as my real identity, but on the other hand... maybe I'll like her more... : P
Perhaps I'll try to avoid using this platform to blog about myself and I'll blog about matters of substance, or maybe I'll just blog about other people (sounds like trouble, right?). Don't worry, of course I'll change names, dates and places to protect the innocent. But if you're not innocent, watch out, I'm outing you and you're outa luck! Haw, haw!
If blogging about life's mishaps, trials and personal discoveries provides a healthy outlet or helps to heal my wounds, then I'm in. I'll give it a whirl...
